Dr. Kathy Look Howery is an educational consultant and a sessional lecturer at the University of Alberta. She provides ongoing consultation to Canadian school jurisdictions in the areas of special education, supporting children and youth with complex communication needs in developing language and literacy skills, and UDL.
Her research focuses on the lived experience of being an AAC user where she first began to see her own ableism and glean stories of ableism in the lives of people who use AAC. Kathy is the current president of ISAAC Canada and is excited now include being a certified PODD trainer to her CV.
